The Cottage Grove Fire Department didn’t just have to fight a fire Friday night; it had to fight the weather as well.
According to the fire department, the fire was reported before 11:10 p.m. in the 7600 block of Lawton Avenue South.
Cottage Grove Police arrived first and safely evacuated the people inside the house.
Fire crews found the fire in the house’s garage, but high winds significantly exacerbated its spread and growth throughout the house.
Firefighters said they also had to contend with cold temperatures and ice while working to suppress the fire.
Per its last update, the Cottage Grove Fire Department said the fire had been contained and said no one was injured.
