
Three Mountain Home students were injured and taken to Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital in Springdale where they were treated and released. All three of those students were back at school Monday according to Dewey.
She says they have folders on each bus with instructions on what to do in case of an accident which she feels were exactly what they needed Saturday.

Dewey says once emergency services arrived and the injured students were taken care of, law enforcement started working with the remaining students to contact parents.

The Mountain Home Superintendent says the school has an important asset in Dr. Matt Sutton who has helped the affected students.

According to the preliminary accident report from the Arkansas State Police, the accident happened when a vehicle was attempting to turn from Arkansas State Highway 45 onto U.S. Highway 62/412 west of Huntsville and failed to yield. The vehicle was struck by the Mountain Home bus. The bus wound up in the ditch after the crash.
The accident happened at 3:20 Saturday afternoon.
