An elderly woman crashed her car into a Circle K convenience store in Allenstown Tuesday morning.

Master Patrol Officer Timothy Vincent said he responded to the crash at 24 Allenstown Rd. shortly after 8 a.m. He said the woman was pulling into a parking space and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The main glass panes at the front of the store were broken and a structural pillar was pushed out, officials said.

The woman was uninjured but transported to the hospital for precautionary measures, Vincent said. No one inside was injured despite the vehicle entering the store near the cash registers.

The town building inspector is assessing the damage. The Circle K, as well as the Irving gas pumps, will be closed until further notice.
