Minor 1.9 magnitude earthquake reported near Missouri-Arkansas border


A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 1.9 was recorded early Sunday morning near the Missouri-Arkansas border. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake at 2:45 in the morning at a depth of 6 kilometers.
The epicenter was located approximately 5.8 miles southwest of Koshkonong, Missouri, and about 39 miles northeast of Mountain Home. Other nearby locations include 14 miles south-southeast of West Plains, Missouri, and 53 miles north of Batesville.




No damages or injuries have been reported. Small quakes of this magnitude are typically felt only by a few people near the epicenter.
