Ransomware Attack on Texas Gas Station Firm Leaks 377,000 User Records

Gulshan Management Services, Inc., a Texas-based gas station operator, has disclosed a significant data breach that compromised the personal information of more than 377,000 customers.

The incident, which occurred between September 17 and September 27, 2025, was discovered on September 27, 2025, and affected individuals were notified on January 5, 2026.

Breach Details

The Sugar Land-based company, which operates gas stations across Texas, fell victim to an external system breach involving unauthorized hacking.

Cybercriminals gained access to systems containing sensitive customer information, including names and other personal identifiers that could be used for identity theft and fraud.

According to the breach notification filed with the Maine Attorney General’s office, 377,082 individuals nationwide were affected, including 54 Maine residents.

The company’s legal counsel, Daniel Alvarez from Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, submitted the mandatory breach disclosure on behalf of Gulshan Management Services.

In response to the security incident, Gulshan Management Services has offered affected customers 12 months of complimentary identity protection services through Kroll Identity Monitoring Services.

The protection package includes credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration services to help victims safeguard their information and recover from potential misuse.

The company sent written notifications to all affected individuals, providing details about the breach and instructions for enrolling in the protective services.

This marks the first breach notification from the organization within the past 12 months.

This incident highlights the ongoing cybersecurity challenges facing retail and service businesses, particularly those that handle customer payments and personal information.

Gas station operators and similar businesses remain attractive targets for cybercriminals seeking financial data and personal identifiers to exploit for fraudulent activities.

Affected customers are strongly encouraged to enroll in the offered monitoring services and remain vigilant for signs of identity theft or unauthorized account activity.
