Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday With a Declaration of Independence Bobblehead Set

Dust off the history books and make room on a display shelf!

Founding father bobbleheads produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum were unveiled today as part of a birthday celebration series to commemorate America’s founding in 1776.

The Milwaukee-based museum houses the largest institutional collection of bobblehead dolls, including legendary figures from sports, politics and pop culture.

“We’re excited to unveil the first bobblehead commemorating the Declaration of Independence to celebrate National Bobblehead Day and America’s 250th Birthday,” Phil Sklar said in a press release.

Sklar is CEO and co-founder of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. 

Based on the iconic “Declaration of Independence” painting by John Trumbull completed in 1818, the set features Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and John Hancock and is available for presale orders now.

The rest of the signers immortalized in Trumbull’s painting will be shown as a replica backdrop for the bobblehead figures, the website said.

The special edition bobbleheads are produced as a unique series, with additional bobblehead subjects to be unveiled in the coming months, the press release said.

The commemorative bobblehead set will be individually numbered to 1,776, and shipments will begin in June. Cost is $176 per set, plus a flat rate shipping fee of $8 per order.

“This very unique bobblehead set will be a great way for people to commemorate our nation’s founding 250 years ago,” Sklar said.

According to the press release Trumbull’s painting “stands as one of the most recognizable images in American history, though it depicts a moment often misunderstood by the public.”

While the work “portrays the presentation of the draft of the declaration to the Continental Congress on June 28, 1776,” the actual signing by congressional delegates took place over the next several weeks and months.

“Trumbull, who served as an aide to George Washington during the Revolutionary War, spent years researching and creating the painting, traveling extensively to capture accurate likenesses of the Founding Fathers from life when possible or from portraits and descriptions when subjects had already passed away,” the press release noted.

The completed painting was placed in the Capitol Rotunda in 1826. It is part of a series of Trumbull’s Revolutionary War paintings on display.

Planning and celebrations to mark America’s milestone birthday will take place across all 50 states throughout 2026. Major celebration events will take place in cities like Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Charleston, South Carolina, along with other locations.
