West Plains man arrested for statutory sodomy of underage female in Ozark County

A West Plains man has been arrested for the sexual abuse of an underage female in Ozark County. Darron Bolton was booked into the Ozark County Jail on a charge of statutory sodomy – deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age. The probable cause affidavit filed in the case had five felony charges listed, including incest, meaning the victim in a relative, but at this point, the prosecutor has filed just the one charge.

According to the affidavit from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, a witness told investigators Bolton confessed the abuse to her.

The victim was interviewed at a child advocacy center in Springfield where she revealed the abuse by Bolton started when she was 13 and continued until she was approximately 15 years old. She said most of the time, the acts occurred in his vehicle or her residence in Gainesville, and he often times provided her alcohol and marijuana.

Two other juveniles provided corroborating details.

Bolton is being held without bail pending his initial arraignment set for Tuesday.
