Small industrial fire in Concord quickly knocked down
A minor building fire at an electrical equipment company on the Heights was rapidly extinguished Monday afternoon.
Concord Fire responded to Transformer Services, Inc., a company that repairs and maintains electrical equipment like transformers and circuit breakers, at 1:36 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Chris Johnson. The fire initially involved lab equipment, which then spread to the building. The flames were knocked down within minutes of the first crews’ arrival, leaving minor damage to the structure.
Regional Drive was closed for a quarter of an hour Monday afternoon to run a hose line across the street in case it was needed, Johnson said.
Firefighters from Loudon, Hopkinton and Franklin responded for mutual aid and were redirected to help cover city operations while Concord firefighters remained on the scene.
There were no injuries, and the exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
