Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway has declared a burn ban for all of Boone County due to dry conditions and increased wildfire risk.
In a statement, Hathaway said the decision was made after consulting with the county fire coordinator, the Office of Emergency Management, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission. The ban took effect Jan. 2.
All outside burning is prohibited until further notice. County officials say public notification is underway and are asking residents to help spread the word to prevent accidental fires.
