Kaohly Her sworn in as St. Paul Mayor

Kaohly Her was officially sworn in as the first woman and first Hmong American to be Mayor of St. Paul on Friday afternoon.

Her has laid out three major priorities to get the city back on track. The first priority is safer communities and emphasizing support for first responders to address issues like mental health and drug use.

The second priority is the economy and finding ways to encourage development. Her’s third priority is building more affordable public housing.

Her was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018 and left during her fourth term to run for St. Paul Mayor.
