Wyoming Police are investigating after a patient reportedly ran from the emergency department of a hospital and entered a “prolonged engagement” with law enforcement.
According to the Wyoming Police, officers were called to the hospital at 5200 Fairview Boulevard around 5:23 p.m. after an emergency department patient ran after being placed on a hold.
When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old man in the parking lot of the hospital, who police said was “non-compliant and physically resisted the officer during a prolonged engagement before being detained.”
The man reprotedly assaulted a member of hospital security before police arrived, but no charges have been placed against him at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
