GREENE COUNTY, Ind. — December 25, 2025
A driver in a stolen black Chevrolet Equinox led law enforcement on a pursuit that began in Bloomington on Christmas day and stretched across two counties before officers later located the vehicle behind a residence in Greene County, according to police radio traffic monitored by The Bloomingtonian.
Scanner traffic indicated the Equinox was reported stolen around 4:40 p.m. at the Nicholson Trailer Court in the 2300 block of South Rogers Street in Bloomington. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, and the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit through Bloomington, into western Monroe County and later onto roads in Greene County, according to the scanner dispatches.
During the chase, the vehicle went through a fence and onto the runway at Monroe County Airport, scanner traffic indicated. Airport staff were later checking the property for damage.
Police later lost sight of the Equinox during the pursuit, but the vehicle was subsequently located behind a residence Greene County, according to scanner traffic.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was taken into custody, but the vehicle was unoccupied. The Bloomingtonian will update this story as more information becomes available from law enforcement.
