A man is hospitalized with critical injuries after apparently crashing into a tree in north Minneapolis.
According to Minneapolis police, officers were called to the area of Washburn Avenue and 43rd Avenue North just before 8:15 a.m. Wednesday and found a man unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had hit a tree.
The man had to be extricated from the vehicle and was then taken to a hospital for treatment. Police described his injuries as life-threatening.
Additionally, MPD says it received reports that the same vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run near 40th Avenue North and Girard Avenue about 30 minutes earlier. Both vehicles involved in that incident left the scene.
Investigators are still looking into those reports and trying to determine what led up to the vehicle hitting a tree.
