On Sunday, Invictus Brewing Company closed its doors for the final time after announcing in November that it would be unable to relocate.
The company spent nearly seven and a half years in business in Blaine.
“Thank you to everybody who supported us over the years. We are truly blessed that you chose to be a part of our journey and community,” a statement from the brewery read. “It’s truly been our honor and privilege to have been able to do this.”
The brewery announced the closure in November; however, Invictus said it was not its initial plan.
In an earlier statement from November, the brewery said it had not anticipated how expensive the relocation would be and that it had already sold its current property to new owners.
“At the time, we were intending to relocate, but now it appears that a relocation is not feasible,” Invictus said. “There are a number of reasons why, but mainly, the cost of any real estate, ingredients and supplies is significantly higher than it was when we built our building in 2018. It goes without saying that this is a decision we did not take lightly, as we love the community here.”
The Tipsy Steer, which shared the building space with Invictus, remains open and operating as of this report.
