Authorities are investigating a weekend homicide in northwestern Minnesota after a reported disturbance apparently escalated.
It happened at a home in Frazee — roughly 10 miles southeast of Detroit Lakes — early Saturday morning.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the corner of West Ash Avenue and Seventh Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. As deputies were en route, they received reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, they found 19-year-old Bryson Andrew May wounded. He was taken to a hospital but later died.
Authorities say four suspects reportedly left the scene in an SUV.
A short time later, an Otter Tail County deputy spotted an SUV that matched that description north of Perham and detained the four people inside.
On Sunday, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office announced that two of those people — a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy — remained in custody and are awaiting charges in connection to May’s killing.
No other details have been released at this time.
The investigation is still active.
