Handsome Hog, known for its barbecue bites and extensive bourbon selection, will serve its last meal on Dec. 30, the restaurant announced on Friday.
Founded in 2016 by chef Justin Sutherland in St. Paul’s Lowertown neighborhood, Handsome Hog packed up its smoker and headed to the corner of Selby and Western avenues on Cathedral Hill in 2020.
Handsome Hog’s success propelled Sutherland to great heights, including features on the TV cooking competitions “Top Chef” and “Iron Chef America.” Sutherland left the restaurant in 2024.
“From our little corner in Lowertown, to our corner on Cathedral Hill, there’s no doubt that we’ve shared many great moments together and a substantial amount of some damn good Bourbon,” the restaurant said in its farewell post.
