Fulton County man arrested for attacking his stepfather, hitting mother

A Fulton County man has been arrested for attacking his stepfather and threatening to kill him and hitting his mother who tried to break up the fight. Facing three felony charges is 28-year-old Jeremy Lane Hurst of Mammoth Spring.According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mammoth Spring Police Department, Hurst was staying in a room at the house owned by his mother and stepfather. The stepfather was upset with his dog and called it a name and Hurst thought the name was directed at him.
Hurst came out of the room he was staying in and attacked his stepfather, hitting him in the head repeatedly, and then throwing a dog gate at his head. Hurst then pulled a gun on the victim and threatened to kill him.

Hurst went back to hitting the man in the head again before his mother stepped in trying to break the fight up, hitting her son in the back twice. Hurst then hit his mother in the shoulder, before going back to his room, getting dressed and leaving the house.

The stepfather declined emergency medical treatment at the scene.

Hurst is facing felony charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member, second degree battery and first degree terroristic threatening. He is free after posting $25,000 bond.
