Kingspan Light, Air + Water solves network complexity with Expereo
Kingspan Light, Air + Water is a global division of Kingspan Group. It delivers cutting-edge solutions in natural daylighting, ventilation, smoke management, water systems, and safe storage.
Its solutions are designed to ensure that the buildings of tomorrow not only meet but exceed expectations. To deliver enhanced performance, and address the challenges of climate change. By optimising daylighting, fresh air and sustainable water use, they aim to create healthier, safer and more comfortable environments for occupants. Recent projects include Center Parcs Longford Forest and Erasmus University Medica Centre.
The challenge was that, with no central control of the network, the company found that renewals were missed. Thus leading to increased costs; network changes were often undocumented; and there was no global visibility into network health. As the company rolled out applications, it became hard to distinguish application issues from network and infrastructure issues. This was because of the complex architecture.
Rather than start from scratch with a new network, which would perhaps be made more difficult by different termination dates, it engaged Expereo to overlay its managed global connectivity solution. It selected Expereo, satisfied that it could design, implement, transition and support a single, standardised network under a single agreement.
BY deploying Expereoone, Expereo was able to take control of the network and improve its robustness. This was done by combining broadband, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services. This solution delivered the robustness considered critical for the production sites. These make up a third of Kingspan Light, Air + Water’s global footprint.
Fergal Moore, Divisional Head of Infrastructure & Cyber Security at Kingspan Light, Air + Water, says: “expereoOne has transformed how we manage our global network. For the first time, we now have a single view of all services, contracts and performance across every site. This gives us confidence, control and the ability to make decisions quickly – putting us in the best place to capitalise on our growth ambitions.”
Using Expereoone, Kingspan’s IT team can now monitor performance, track delivery dates, manage trouble tickets, and deactivate services digitally. With the size of its network, change is constant. With experience making it easier to both order and manage invoicing for its platform in a single location.
The team can view quotes, place new orders and maintain a level of transparency and visibility across its global network that was previously impossible.
Ben Elms, CEO of Expereo, says: “I’m delighted we are supporting Kingspan Light, Air + Water in the next phase of its digital transformation. Global businesses face huge challenges managing fragmented networks across multiple regions – and our fully managed service, combined with the expereoOne platform deliver the visibility and control Kingspan Light, Air + Water needs.
“By providing a single source of truth for all sites and services – we’re removing complexity, strengthening resilience and giving the organisation the security to scale and innovate without worrying about network risk.”
For companies that grow rapidly through acquisition, the primary concern for the business is often connectivity across the new networks. Once achieved, however, the urgency to change diminishes.
IT Teams often inherit issues similar to those faced by Kingspan. Implementing epxereoone gives the firm network visibility in a single pane. Thus simplifying management and administration and allowing the organisation to improve network stability and performance more easily.
