The Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced it has paid off the mortgage on the Savage home of fallen Burnsville firefighter/paramedic Adam Finseth.
The foundation shared that it will pay off the mortgages for 50 injured veterans and Gold Star and fallen first responder families this year.
Finseth was killed in February 2024 while responding to a domestic violence call. The suspect opened fire on first responders, killing Finseth and two Burnsville police officers. A fourth first responder was shot but survived. Finseth was trying to help one of the officers when he was killed.

Shortly after 9/11, Finseth enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed two tours in Iraq, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then earned degrees in fire science and paramedicine, and served several fire departments before joining Burnsville in 2019, the Foundation shared. He later became one of two medics on the department’s SWAT team.
Finseth, 40, is survived by his wife, Tara, and their two children.

“Having our mortgage paid in full allows me to focus more on the security of our children and their future. It also allows our children to have experiences that honor their father’s memory and hopefully instill the kindness, love of life, and gratitude that their father modeled every day,” Tara Finseth said.
The Foundation also paid off the mortgage on the Glenwood home of fallen Pope County Deputy Josh Owen in 2024. Owen was killed while responding to a domestic incident on April 15, 2023.
