The Minnesota State Patrol said a woman was killed Wednesday morning after she was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross a highway in Mille Lacs County.
Around 6:27 a.m., a Cadillac CTS was headed north on Highway 27 towards Isle near 400th Street.
According to the State Patrol, as the vehicle continued northbound, it struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the highway.
The woman was later declared dead at the scene of the crash; she has been identified as 39-year-old Danielle Lee Boyd of Minneapolis.
