This upcoming feature, “Report a Suspicious Call,” is designed to strengthen the platform’s defenses against fraudulent activities by leveraging user-submitted reports to identify and mitigate threats.
The new capability will allow individuals to report any call they deem unusual or suspicious directly within the Teams application.
When a user flags a call, the report will be sent to Microsoft for analysis. This data will help the company’s security teams to recognize patterns of malicious behavior.
Block unwanted callers and improve the overall safety of the communication environment. By actively involving users in the security process, Microsoft aims to create a more resilient and secure experience for everyone on the platform.
This user-driven approach to threat detection is a proactive step toward combating the rise of spam and phishing attempts targeting corporate communication channels.
The feature not only helps protect individual users but also strengthens the organization’s collective security by providing real-time intelligence on emerging threats.
According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the “Report a Suspicious Call” feature is currently in development and is scheduled to begin rolling out in February 2026.
It will be available worldwide for standard multi-tenant cloud instances. It will be supported across a wide range of platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
The release will be phased, starting with a targeted release before becoming generally available to all users, ensuring a smooth, stable integration for organizations worldwide.
