JPs will take up three ordinances regarding a proposed 0.25% countywide sales and use tax to support the community center and call a special election for March 3, 2026. The county says the special meeting is being held to allow the attorney who drafted the ordinances to attend, due to a scheduling conflict with the court’s regular meeting date.
Also on the agenda are several items from the County Judge’s office, including the 2026 budget, an updated personnel policy, the Circuit Court Automation Fund, and a transfer of funds to the ARPA account.
The court will also consider a county planning ordinance recommended by the Planning Commission, and will take up appointments to the Peel Fire Protection District Board, including Jim Harman and David Frellsen.
If any items fail to advance at the special meeting, the regular Quorum Court meeting will be held Tuesday at 5:30.
