
A minor earthquake was recorded Wednesday night in Sharp County near Ash Flat, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Geological Survey.
The magnitude 1.8 quake occurred at 8:15 p.m. local time at a depth of about 14 kilometers.
The epicenter was roughly about 50 miles east-southeast of Mountain Home, 6 miles east-southeast of Ash Flat, and 42 miles south-southeast of West Plains.
No damage or impacts are expected from an earthquake of this size.
