Baxter County seeks poll workers for 2026 elections
With the 2026 election cycle approaching, Baxter County Election Coordinator Lindsey Roberts is asking local residents to consider serving as poll workers.

“These crucial roles provide the backbone of a fair and functional electoral process, ensuring that every vote is accurately counted and that the democratic process runs smoothly.” Roberts stated in a release to KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News.

The county is seeking individuals to help staff polling sites during early voting and on election day. Poll workers assist voters, set up and close polling locations, and help ensure the election process runs efficiently and accurately. Training is provided, and no prior experience is required.

Poll workers are paid $15 per hour and must be able to stand for at least two hours at a time and work shifts of 10 to 14 hours as scheduled. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, registered to vote in Baxter County and must attend mandatory training sessions.

Those interested in applying can contact the election coordinator’s office at 870-580-5602, fill out an application at the Baxter County Courthouse, or email elections@baxtercountyar.gov
