Quorum Court wraps up brief meeting with unanimous votes

The Baxter County Quorum Court met Monday evening for its December session, convening one day earlier than usual. The meeting lasted 24-minutes, and all agenda items passed unanimously.Justices of the peace approved several appropriations and transfers, including an ordinance allocating $6,806 in October fees and reimbursements to the Sheriff’s Office for 2025 and another transferring $6,244 from County General into the Juvenile Services budget. They also approved moving $18,436 from the Road and Bridge Fund into Buildings and Grounds for next year.
The court passed an emergency ordinance affirming the county’s annual millage levy, Ordinance 2025-54, after making a procedural amendment. The adjustment corrected the Grover Township Fire Protection District’s levy period to 2025-26, rather than 2024-25, before the measure was approved.

Members also adopted an emergency inter local agreement with the City of Mountain Home covering district court accounting records and programming support. A resolution reappointing John Olson and Michael Saunders to the Buford Volunteer Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners was approved as well.
