Multiple departments respond to Robbinsdale apartment fire that left 12 units displaced
The occupants of a Robbinsdale apartment were displaced after a fire on Sunday evening.
Robbinsdale fire crews responded to an apartment on the 3800 block of West Broadway just before 6 p.m. on a report that flames were seen coming out of a first-floor window, according to a spokesperson for Robbinsdale police.
Fire crews from Robbinsdale, the West Metro Fire-Rescue District, Golden Valley, Osseo and Brooklyn Center responded to the fire, Robbinsdale police added.
Firefighters rescued a person stuck on the third floor of the apartment using ladders.
A man was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from going back into the burning building, law enforcement said.
Metro Transit sent buses to help displaced residents. All 12 units in the building were deemed uninhabitable, Robbinsdale officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
