A Minnesota man has died after being struck by lightning in Peru.
A Facebook post cited by GoFundMe states that Yuri Botehlo was mountain biking with a friend when they were both struck by lightning.
“We know Yuri has touched the lives of many and has left a remarkable legacy,” the GoFundMe states.
Botehlo’s family is working to get him back to Minnesota, the GoFundMe states. His friend, who was also struck by lightning, remains in critical condition.
The money from the fundraiser will help cover travel and medical expenses.
