Lakeville City Council approves city’s first mosque

The city of Lakeville has approved a plan to create the city’s first-ever mosque.

The mosque is planned to be located at the former Lakeville Area School District office building on 210th Street, near McGuire Middle School.

Should the initial plans be followed without change, the mosque would feature two prayer rooms with space for nearly 145 worshippers.

Its installation would be a welcome change for followers in Lakeville, whose current closest mosque options are Burnsville and Rosemount.
