Gov. Stein pardons two turkeys named after famous North Carolina business ahead of of Thanksgiving

RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Gov. Josh Stein took part in an important holiday duty for the first time Friday morning. The governor pardoned a pair of turkeys ahead of his first Thanksgiving in office. The pardoned birds are named Krispy and Kreme; the famous doughnut company was founded in Winston-Salem and is now based in Charlotte’s South End.  The lucky turkeys will now live out the rest of their days at a southern Wake County […]
