Bike Works to Close Newtown Location; Will Launch Mobile Service Unit to Continue to Serve Local Customers

Instead of saddling Newtown cycling enthusiasts with a problem, Bike Works is offering a solution.

Newtown-based customers, and those in the surrounding area, can still receive Bike Works service when a new mobile bike service unit launches to serve their needs.

Brian Boger, a Bike Works partner, announced the change in a press release.

“Bike Works, the community’s trusted source for bicycles, gear and expert service announced today that its Newtown store is scheduled to close on December 15, 2025. The move will allow the shop to enhance operations and better serve riders throughout the region,” the press release stated.

The firm will close the Sycamore Street retail location and consolidate it with its Doylestown.

Bike Works Doylestown location will honor all existing service, orders and gift cards following the closing of the Newtown location.

A new mobile service van will bring expert bike repairs to customers by appointment. From tune-ups and select products Newtown area customers can be served by the new mobile service unit.

“Our shop in Newtown has been a great success and introduced us to many new friends. We look forward to serving our community for many years through our Doylestown store and mobile service unit,” said Fran Taloricco, founding Bike Works partner.

The new mobile bike service unit is expected to roll out sometime this winter offering home service requests by appointment.

“I’ve been on the ground floor of each location we have opened since 2011. I’m so proud of the shop we built on Sycamore Street and for the relationships we’ve built here in Newtown. We’re excited about the new opportunities the mobile unit will bring, allowing us to better serve the cycling community where they ride,” said Dan Turner, shop manager of Bike Works Newtown.

The Doylestown Bike Works store, located at 139 S. Main Street will continue to offer the full range of sales and service that customers expect.
