IDAHO FALLS — A grand jury has indicted an Idaho Falls man on one count of first-degree murder.

“Alvarado has been served in Nebraska with an arrest warrant, where he is currently incarcerated,” the news release states.

The charge comes after a grand jury indicted four others on various charges related to the fatal shooting of Leary, 34, in June at the West Snake River Boat Ramp in Idaho Falls.

EastIdahoNews.com reported on Friday that four people — Brittnie Lynn I Schennum, 33, of Idaho Falls, Megan Lynne Paz Warrick, 35, of Idaho Falls, Jonathan Terry Warrick, 31, of Idaho Falls, and Jarrod Thomas Sisneros, 30, of North Fork, Idaho — conspired to commit aggravated battery against another person on June 23. They were charged with felony accessory, willfully withholding or concealing knowledge of a felony from a peace officer, and felony conspiracy to commit aggravated battery.

A news release from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to North River Road around 7:15 a.m. on June 23 after reports of a man found with a gunshot wound. The four who were initially charged knew who had committed the crime of first-degree murder, according to the indictment, and they withheld that knowledge from police.

Alvarado was identified following an investigation in collaboration with multiple agencies, including the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office, Elko County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Nebraska State Police and the Nebraska State Department of Corrections.

“The next step in the process will be for these individuals to be arraigned in district court,” the sheriff’s office says in a news release. “The evidence presented to the grand jury remains under seal. This reduces the level of pre-trial publicity, which protects our local jury pool.”

Authorities are asking for the public’s patience as these cases progress through the judicial process.
