A woman was injured in a shooting Saturday night near Newton Avenue in Minneapolis.
According to police, officers were called to the 3400 block of Newton Avenue North around 9:58 p.m. for a reported shooting, where a woman had “at least one” gunshot wound.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment; police said the injury is not life-threatening.
Police said they believe the woman was shot after she was involved in a physical altercation with another woman inside a vehicle, which escalated to gunfire.
After the shooting, the suspect left the area in the car and later drove to a police station to turn herself in.
