New drug charges filed against MH man

A man facing drug-related charges appeared during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division November 3 and entered a not guilty plea to those charges.
The vehicle being driven by 49-year-old Christopher (Chris) Wade, Jr., who lists an address along Felicia Lane in Mountain Home, was pulled over October 3 about 11 p.m.
for a minor traffic violation by a Gassville police officer.

During the stop, it was determined that Wade was on parole and had an active waiver on file, allowing for the search of his person and property without a warrant.

The officer reported asking Wade if there was anything illegal in the vehicle and being told by Wade there was nothing that would get him in trouble.

A search of the SUV proved otherwise. Glass smoking pipes commonly used to ingest methamphetamine and marijuana were found in the vehicle. A cigarette that contained suspected marijuana and a black box that was attached by magnets underneath of the vehicle on the driver’s side that also contained a green leafy substance suspected of being marijuana.

A small plastic bag and capsule both containing a white crystal-like substance were also found during the search.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Wade was taken into custody and brought to the Baxter County Detention Center. He is free on $2500 bond.

Court records also show Wade has open cases in Marion County in which he is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

One of those cases was filed in March and also stemmed from a traffic stop-this time by a Bull Shoals police officer. During a search, two marijuana cigarettes, a smoking pipe and almost four grams of suspected methamphetamine were found in Wade’s vehicle.

According to electronic court records, Wade pled not guilty to the charges on April 23.
