Hackler Intermediate students speak with KTLO News about upcoming Veterans Day Celebration

Hackler Intermediate School will honor area veterans and their families with a Veterans Day Celebration on Saturday from 11 to 2 at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.

The event will include food, entertainment, and fellowship in recognition of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

KTLO News went to Hackler and spoke with students Brody Wilson, Cora Fulcher and Kenzie Stickles, who were able to share some of the details of the event.

The fifth graders went on to share what comes to mind when they hear the word “veteran.”

The students had a heartfelt message to share with the veterans in their lives.

During the summer, the students held their annual ragball tournament to raise the funds to feed veterans and their families for free. School officials say the celebration is a way to bring the community together and thank local veterans for their service and sacrifice.

The event is free and open to all area veterans and their families.
