A solemn portion of the program was devoted to reading the names of local veterans who died during the past year. Victor Wamper served as speaker for the roll call of the dead, and Chris Dennis rang a bell after each name. The Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard — composed of members from American Legion Post 18, AMVETS Post 2000 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 604 — participated under the command of Curtis Wampler.
