IG report: CPS travel costs soar in post-pandemic years, including to exotic destinations

In a lengthy report released Wednesday, the Chicago Public Schools Office of Inspector General found “questionable, excessive and even exorbitant post-pandemic travel spending by CPS employees,” citing about $7.7 million in overnight travel expenses for FY 2024 compared to about $3.6 million for FY 2019.
