From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, Topeka North Outreach will be holding an event to help provide food and snacks to over 700 students at 14 area schools and community centers. Topeka North Outreach is partnering with Operation Backpack,
“Food prices are increasing,” Topeka North Outreach wrote on its website. “Donations are down. Grant awards are uncertain. We need your help to continue this outreach. It takes a village!”
The program provides a two-day supply of food and kids snacks that are easy to prepare. The program prioritizes parents who receive free or reduced-price lunches, single parents, working parents, adoptive parents, grandparent parents or disabled parents.
Topeka North Outreach said attendees should park at the back of the Indian Creek Elementary School building, located at 4303 NE Indian Creek Rd.
