According to MFE, the following items are included in the contracts:
Smaller, enforceable class sizes at all schools.
More support for students in special education, and more manageable caseloads for staff.
Teachers in adult education will earn the same salary as the rest of the teachers in the district.
Lump sum payments for education support professionals based on years of experience.
Education support professionals will have 14 days of full pay for days when school isn’t in session, like MEA or winter or spring breaks.
Education support professionals will have 15 minutes during the school day to do non-student-facing tasks like lesson planning.
Pay for teachers will increase 2% in 2025-26 and 2% in 2026-27. Teachers will also be able to reach the top of their salary schedule quicker and receive an automatic salary increase each year until then.
Union members will vote on the agreement later this week.
