LOGAN, Utah (ABC4) — One man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting a woman, leaving her with several injuries.
Jeffery Galipeaux, 64, of Logan has been charged with four felonies including aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Police believe Galipeaux and the victim were dating at the time of the incident.
On Nov. 9, 2025, the alleged victim told officers with the Logan Police Department that she had been physically assaulted in the back of a vehicle two days earlier. The victim said she and Galipeaux, began arguing, at which point, he allegedly pulled her out of the passenger seat and “began hitting her with fists, in her face.”
According to charging documents, Galipeaux struck the woman in the temples, head, chest, mouth, and jaw, causing one tooth to break.
Furthermore, the woman told officers after being hit, Galipeaux reportedly picked her up by her hair and began strangling her. In doing so, the victim reported almost losing consciousness and “seeing stars.”
After about one minute, the victim told police she was thrown to the ground, causing her to hit her head on a brick surface. She then attempted to run away to a neighbor’s house for help but was chased down by Galipeaux, who began punching and strangling her, documents claim.
At one point during the alleged assault, Galipeaux reportedly kicked the female victim multiple times in her leg with a steel-toed boot.
Police observed the following injuries on the victim following the assault:
- Severe bruising and swelling on right shin
- Swelling, redness, and an abrasion on the left cheekbone
- Brusing over left eye
- Redness over right cheekbone
- Large piece of tooth broken off
- Redness and abrasion on front of her neck, “consistent with strangulation”
An ex-girlfriend of Galipeaux also told police she received a phone call from him reporting a physical fight that took place on the same date reported by the victim.
Galipeaux is facing multiple felony charges and was booked in the Cache County Jail on a request to hold him without bail.
Documents show he plead guilty to possessing a controlled substance in Ogden during 2011 and 2008.
