Lanett police: Child struck by vehicle flown to trauma center, driver stayed on scene

Lanett Police say the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. The juvenile, believed to be under 10 years old, was alert when flown to a trauma center for treatment.

Investigators say the driver stopped immediately, remained on scene, and was visibly distraught.

At this time, police believe the incident was an accident; the investigation is ongoing.
