KRON4’s Dan Kerman honored by NAACP

(KRON) — KRON4’s Dan Kerman was honored over the weekend as the NAACP Oakland Branch held its 2025 Freedom Fund Gala Friday at the Oakland Marriott City Center. The annual event brings together civic, business, and community leaders “dedicated to advancing equity, public safety, and opportunity throughout Oakland,” according to the NAACP.

Kerman, a long-standing KRON4 reporter who has been with the station since 2002, received the Public Affairs Award.

Other award recipients at the event included California Attorney General Rob Bonta and civil rights attorney John L. Burris, both of whom received the Civil Rights Presidential Award.
