In all, 23 flights heading to PDX on Monday have been or will be delayed, according to a tally on FlyPDX.com, with nine arrivals being canceled outright.
Meanwhile, travelers leaving from PDX on Monday may also run into issues, with 20 delays and 10 cancellations.
Leading the pack for delays and cancellations at PDX on Monday is Alaska Airlines. KOIN 6 News has reached out to Alaska Airlines for more details, but has yet to hear back.
However, American Airlines, Delta, Southwest and United were also announcing delays and cancellations for arrivals and departures.
United confirmed it canceled one arriving flight and one departing flight on Monday as a result of the government shutdown, and said on its website that there will be at least one canceled arriving flight and one canceled departing flight on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Delta said it was working with customers to reschedule flights, and said that all FAA-direct flight cancellations through Wednesday, Nov. 12 have been made.
In an email to KOIN 6 News, American Airlines confirmed the impact, saying in part, “the vast majority of our delays and cancellations today are due to FAA flight reductions and staffing shortages.”
KOIN 6 News also reached out to Southwest but has yet to hear back.
