
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person died and two others were injured after a three-car crash on Friday afternoon, Oregon State Police announced.
The crash took place on SR-569 (Beltline Highway) near milepost 0 in Lane County.
According to OSP, the person driving a westbound Honda Accord “braked suddenly” and was struck from behind by a Chevy Silverado.
The collision caused the Chevy to enter the eastbound lane and strike a Dodge Stratus head-on.
The driver of the Dodge, Vincent Canham, 84, was declared dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Dodge was hospitalized with minor injuries. Additionally, the driver of the Chevy was seriously injured in the crash.
