Palo Alto home intruders at large
(KRON) — Burglars broke into a Palo Alto house on Corina Way Thursday night while the residents were home, police said.

The two residents, both in their eighties, were awake on the first floor of their house when they heard glass breaking around 7:40 p.m. Police said one of the residents walked over to investigate what had caused the noise, and she saw a home intruder walking up a staircase to the second floor. She also spotted a second man standing next to the back door.

“Upon hearing the female resident scream, both suspects ran out the back door and were observed fleeing in a vehicle. The suspects are unknown and at large,” the Palo Alto Police Department wrote.

Police determined that the burglars had broken into the house by smashing through a rear sliding glass door. They fled before stealing anything inside, PAPD said.

Detectives said they are investigating the incident.
