The junior running back tallied 240 yards rushing and scored all seven Wildcat touchdowns in a 49-28 win over their rival.
“We had fun while doing it. We dominated, or as you would say, took over. So we showed what we could do, and we were having fun while we’re doing that. So it was just overall a good moment, the win,” said Destrehan junior running back Malachi Dabney.
Dabney is one of several weapons featured on a Destrehan offense that has averaged over 50 points per game during their win streak.
“An outstanding effort in a big-time atmosphere. And these are the things that we’ve come to expect from Malachi. He’s on track to really have an outstanding career here at Destrehan. You know, he’ll be the first to tell you that it’s all thanks to his teammates and a lot of people around him to put him in these positions in order to be successful,” said Destrehan head coach Marcus Scott.
