Crash leads officers to $20,000 in stolen designer glasses in North Bay: CHP

(KRON) — California Highway Patrol officers allegedly recovered $20,000 in stolen designer glasses during a traffic stop Friday.

At about 3:18 p.m., the Novato Police Department asked CHP to keep an eye out for a black Dodge Charger with paper covering its license plates. The car was allegedly used in the theft of tens of thousands of dollars worth of designer glasses stolen from a local store.

“Approximately 25 minutes later, CHP units were at the scene of a crash and observed a vehicle matching the description pass their location,” CHP said.

An officer pulled over the car and found the missing glasses inside, according to CHP. The occupants of the car were detained and handed over to the Novato Police Department.
