Jin’s Rapid Rise vs. Jimin’s Global Reign on Spotify

DALLAS (KDAF) — With BTS’s anticipated 2026 comeback already lifting HYBE’s shares nearly 24% in a month, and with the group’s CFO recently recognized for outstanding leadership at the IAA Awards, global excitement around K-pop is soaring. In light of this, TradingPlatforms recently delved into KPOP’s popularity on Spotify and the earnings these songs have generated on the streaming platform.

To highlight Spotify’s top artists and tracks, the team at TradingPlatforms aggregated Kworb and Spotify all-time weekly chart data from 73 countries and estimated revenue by multiplying streams by $0.004 (the midpoint of Spotify’s $0.003–$0.005 payout).

BTS members Jimin and Jin have both seen major solo success on Spotify in 2025, but Jimin currently leads by a wide margin. His catalogue has generated $30.5 billion in revenue, about 2.5 times more than Jin’s $12.5 billion, reflecting stronger and more sustained global streaming momentum. Jimin’s 2024 hit ‘Who’ continues to rank among the world’s most-streamed songs, while Jin’s 2025 release ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ has rapidly climbed the charts, signaling fast-growing listener engagement.

Here are a few key takeaways from the report:

Sponsored
  • Jimin’s solo catalogue (34 tracks on the platform) has generated $30.51 billion in Spotify revenue: more than 2.5 times Jin’s $12.51 billion total (generated from 38 tracks). The gap reflects Jimin’s broader global appeal among streaming audiences, while Jin’s rapid rise in 2025 highlights his growing momentum compared to other BTS solo projects.
  • Jimin’s ‘Who’, released on July 19, 2024, ranks 21st on Spotify’s weekly global chart and 41st on the all-time list, outperforming nearly every other song by a South Korean artist. It has earned $8.39 billion in Spotify revenue from 2.1 billion streams, making it the most-listened to South Korean song ever, with $317,768.69 in estimated revenue from domestic streams alone, a rare case of simultaneous global and local success.
  • Jin’s ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’, released on May 15, 2025, is currently 7th on Spotify’s weekly global chart, 385th all-time, and 14th among all 2025 releases, generating $2.5 billion in Spotify revenue in under six months. While ‘Who’ leads in total earnings, Jin’s track is growing faster month-to-month, suggesting major breakout potential for the solo project of BTS’s oldest member.
  • Jimin’s first solo track, available on Spotify, ‘Promise’ (2018), generated $519,402, while Jin’s debut, ‘The Astronaut’(2022), earned $2.4 billion, meaning Jin’s debut on Spotify out-earned Jimin’s by more than fourfold, showing how BTS’s expanding international profile has amplified solo streaming power over time.

“Even as Jimin and Jin carve out their solo lanes, the numbers show two totally different stories, and both say a lot about where K-pop’s headed,” Stanislava Savisheva, data analyst at Tradingplatforms, said. “Jimin’s already pulling in more than twice Jin’s Spotify revenue, positioning him as the long-game player: steady streams, global reach, serious catalogue value. Jin’s trajectory, meanwhile, is pure adrenaline, massive launches, quick spikes, and enough fan power to light up the charts overnight.

With BTS’s comeback set for 2026, Jimin’s streaming dominance gives him the stability of a legacy act, while Jin’s explosive surges prove there’s still room for wildcards in the mix. Jimin’s the slow-burn streaming king; Jin’s the high-voltage headline act, and together, they’re rewriting the playbook for what solo success looks like in K-pop’s post-group era.”

More information on Spotify’s most-streamed songs and artists around the world, as well as the estimated revenue each song generates from streams, and the complete methodology behind these calculations, can be found in the full report.
