This filing comes after a heated exchange between the two at the Jefferson Parish Council meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The parish and firefighters have been at odds regarding firefighter pay.
“The aggressive behavior has been building for months in many different ways, but comments made at this week’s council meeting about knowing where I go and having eyes and ears on me crossed the line,” Lee Sheng said in a statement.
“Part of my job is to establish safe workplace conditions, and no parish employee, including myself, should be subjected to this type of language. I always accept constructive criticism and differences of opinion, but this type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
WGNO reached out to the Jefferson Fire Fighters Association and did not receive a comment.
