I-84 ramp near Echo reservoir closes due to construction project

COALVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — The Utah Department of Transportation announced an I-84 on-ramp near Echo Reservoir would be closed Friday morning.

“Crews will be performing structures work on Thursday and Friday,” UDOT’s traffic website says. The work will take place on I-80 over Echo Dam Road and the Weber River, an area commonly known as Echo Junction.

Officials say the closure will affect the eastbound I-84 to eastbound I-80 ramp. The ramp will be closed through most of Friday.

The closures are expected to last until 5 p.m. Friday.

UDOT says drivers can detour at the Coalville exit and detour back onto eastbound I-80.

According to transportation officials, the entire project area will span a distance of three miles, beginning at milepost 165 and continuing until milepost 168.
