These counties include: Blount, Cherokee, Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Etowah, Fayette, Franklin, Jackson, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Morgan, Pickens, St. Clair, Walker, and Winston.
This change comes from recent rainfall that improved drought conditions in areas of the state.
Despite these counties seeing an improvement in drought conditions, other areas of the state are still seeing moderate or extreme drought. The Alabama Forestry Commission will continue the Fire Danger Advisory for the rest of the state until it receives beneficial rainfall.
The AFC would like to remind the public, that if you plan to burn outdoors, to use proper safety protocol.
Burn permits can be obtained through the Alabama Forestry Commission, and any fire greater than 0.25 acres or within 25 ft of a forest must be permitted.
